Privacy Policy

We take the privacy of expectant parents seriously. We collect only what we need to make Emio work, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.
1. Who We Are
Emio is made by Good Design Practice Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). Our contact email is hello@thegooddesignpractice.com.
2. What Data We Collect

We do not collect location data, health metrics beyond contraction timing, or any advertising identifiers.
3. How We Store Your Data
All data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU region. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Row-level security policies ensure that each user can only access their own data.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to provide the Emio service:
- Displaying your contraction history and charts
- Calculating weeks pregnant and time since last contraction
- Allowing you to call your emergency contacts from within the app
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond making the app work.
5. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:
- Supabase — our infrastructure provider (data processor)
- Apple / Google — for authentication token verification only
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect safety
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing us
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Correction — update your profile information within the app at any time
- Objection — object to processing of your personal data

7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data — including contraction records, profile information, and emergency contacts — is permanently deleted within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Emio is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect data from users under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
